Sequel confirmed for "Murder on the Orient Express"

21 Nov – Detective Hercule Poirot is hopping off the train and continuing his adventure on a riverboat cruise next, as it has been confirmed that "Murder on the Orient Express" is getting a sequel.
"Death on the Nile" is the next Poirot mystery to be adapted for the silver screen by Twentieth Century Fox, according to Variety.
The script is set to be penned by Michael Green, who also adapted the screenplay for "Murder on the Orient Express". British actor-director Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the movie as well as starred as the detective, is expected to return as director and reprise his sleuthing role.
The movie, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley, Judi Dench and more, is currently showing in Cambodia and will be pulling into Malaysian and Singaporean cinemas this 30 November.
The planned sequel "Death on the Nile" will be based on the 1937 Agatha Christie novel of the same name. Taking place mostly on the Nile River, the story follows Poirot who becomes involved in a deadly love triangle while on vacation.
This will be the second feature film adaptation of the novel, following the 1978 version directed by John Guillermin, which won an Oscar for Best Costume Design at the 51st Academy Awards' Academy Award.
