Sentosa will be turned into a Pokemon Go Safari Zone from 18-22 April 2019.

Great news for the legions of Pokemon Go fans across the island: Come April, Sentosa will be turned into a Safari Zone for five days, during which players can catch rare Pokemon usually not seen in Singapore.

From 18-22 April, Pokemon Go players who register for 100,000 available places to take part in the event will be able to hunt never-before-seen Pokemon roaming around the resort island, such as the region-specific Tropius, shiny Shuckle, and Unown.

Interested participants need to register and ballot for the limited places from 5-7 March on the event website, safarizone.sentosa.com.sg. The places will be available for free.

Players registering need to select a preferred date on which they would like to participate in the Safari Zone. If they are selected after the balloting process, they will receive a QR code through email that will serve as a ticket to the event. Participation is limited to the day stated in the confirmation email in order to allow more players to take part.

Other activities fans can look forward to include stocking up on supplies at multiple PokeStops, snapping photos with Pokemon at various photo points across Sentosa, and Team rest areas where they can mingle and trade Pokemon with fellow trainers from teams Instinct, Mystic and Valor.

Trainers without a QR code can still play Pokemon Go as per normal on Sentosa during the Safari Zone event.

The makers of the popular augmented reality game Pokemon Go have organised several special Safari Zone events globally since 2017, with locations including the Netherlands, Brazil, Taiwan and Japan. The Sentosa event is the first Safari Zone in Southeast Asia.
