16 Jan – Although she is happy to win Most Popular Female Character at the TVB Anniversary Awards, Selena Lee couldn't help but feel sad that her onscreen partner Joel Chan didn't win most of his categories at the recently held event.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke to the media following the awards, stated that she would be more delighted if both of them could win their respective categories.
"I have mixed feelings right now. I am happy, but I am also disappointed. But there is no way around it. Everybody's competition is stiff this year. If only Joel could win Most Popular Male Character as well, since there are two winners for the female category," she said, referring to her and Miriam Yeung, who both won in the said category.
It is noted that Joel lost the Most Popular Male Character to Pakho Chau ("Wonder Women"), and Best Actor to Kenneth Ma ("Big White Duel"). However, the actor did win Best Couple with Selena for their performance in "Barrack O'Karma".
Asked if she is also saddened that their supernatural series did not win Best Drama, Selena said that "Big White Duel" deserves the award.
"They're a big production with well-done details. We make our series at a low budget. The competition is too strong," she said.
