Selena Lee opens up about failed romance with Patrick Tang
24 Oct – Selena Lee recently opened up about her breakup with singer Patrick Tang many years ago, stating that their failed romance was actually a long time coming.
As reported on HK01, the former TVB actress recently sat down for an interview on a radio show, in which the topic of her past five-year relationship with the singer came to the surface.
"He is very artistic and detailed, but he was actually not my type. When my father's business failed, I was touched to have someone care about me. But in reality, we weren't compatible. We shouldn't even be together," she said.
Selena admitted that she was adamant on making things work despite the fact that there was a lot of unhappiness in the five years they were together, and they were able to persist for such a long time even when others around them said that they wouldn't last.
"We lived together, so it was hard to break things off, that is until I left for school in Canada. I was finally able to take that step," she said.
However, she was full of praises for Patrick, saying that the singer was a very kind and giving person.
When mentioned the accusation that she only has eyes on wealthy men - like rumoured boyfriends Wilfred Ng (a director at Yan Chai Hospital) and Christopher Poon (an investment manager), Selena said that there is no truth to it at all.
"People who know me knows that I am not that kind of person. In fact, I would prefer someone who could accept me as I am. It's hard, because I am a career woman. I am always travelling and working," she said.
