Selena Lee never felt devalued by TVB

8 Oct – Although she has never won an award with TVB, Selena Lee stated that she never felt devalued by the company throughout their time together.

As reported on Mingpao, the "Barrack O'Karma" actress, who sat down for an interview recently, dismissed the idea that TVB has ignored her, when it was mentioned that she was able to win international accolades but never once from her own company's annual event.

It is noted that Selena previously won Best Actress at the Los Angeles Film Awards and European Cinematography Awards for her role in "Once More".

"I have never felt disheartened by it. Not having an award does not mean that I didn't have a good acting career. Winning an award would depend on many factors," she said.

Selena admitted that while she used to feel disappointed in the past, she no longer pays too much attention on winning an award.

"I got to meet Nicole Kidman and Kate Hudson when I attended the Fashion Week earlier, and it made me realise something. I shouldn't think about what I lost, but what I gained from broadening my horizon and experiencing the outside world," she said.

On the other hand, asked if she would do more in the action genre after being nominated Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Blood and Water" at the 7th Canadian Screen Awards, Selena laughed and said, "No one in Hong Kong would offer me this kind of role. In the eyes of a foreigner, Chinese people are good at doing action scenes because of people like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Donnie Yen."
