From Harper's BAZAAR

Selena Gomez has been using social media to encourage people to vote, and she decided to get her friend and former costar, Timothée Chalamet, in on the action.

While Chalamet was standing in line at Madison Square Garden to vote in person, Gomez included the actor in a livestream on Instagram. "Right now I'm literally voting, at my early voting station in New York at Madison Square Garden," Chalamet said, "which feels particularly metaphorical because I've been many great things happen here. So I'm hoping another great thing happens today."

Chalamet also told Gomez, "All that mail voting, they de-legitimize it, or they tried to de-legitimize it, so that's why I wanted to go in person. I just want to, like, see it done."

The Little Women star also shared footage of the long line of people waiting to vote and said, "It's really moving to see this many people show up. It feels like people are motivated."

Chalamet continued, "Everyone's telling young people to vote, but it feels kind of condescending, 'Duh, we're gonna vote. Duh.'"

Earlier this week, Gomez shared a photo with her fans after she'd voted. The caption explained, "Just finished filling out my ballot!" The post has already been like by over 9 million people, showing the huge reach that Gomez has on social media.

During their livestream, Chalamet praised Gomez's voting efforts and said, "I'm really proud of you. You've been all over this stuff and I know it's making a difference."
