Three-time champion jockey Frankie Dettori and former Grand National winner Marcus Armytage will be among riders and racing enthusiasts at the famed Meydan Racecourse in March next year for the Dubai World Cup.

The premier horse racing event provides a global stage for the best horses in the world to compete and offers the highest prize money among all international racing events. For one night every year, this event showcases the sophistication of Dubai, the incredible spirit of thoroughbred horses, and the thrill of flat racing.

Telegraph Travel has partnered with Racing Breaks to offer readers the chance to watch the exhilarating event, as well as gain insight on the day from Mr Armytage, who is The Telegraph's racing expert. Readers will also attend an exclusive pre-drinks party with three-time winner Mr Dettori, including unlimited food and drinks at the racecourse and access to the evening fireworks and concert.

The best period of Mr Dettori’s racing career has to be 1996, the year he rode all seven winners on one British Champions’ Day at Ascot. This same year the Meydan Racecourse – meaning ‘competitive meeting place’ in Arabic – began hosting the flat racing event for thoroughbreds. And this year the Italian jockey returns, with Mr Armytage, to soak up the excitement.

The Meydan Grandstand also offers a horse racing museum, a gallery, a five-star hotel and a nine-hole golf course. The grandeur of the 7.5 million square-metre complex aims to the strength and beauty of the stallions who gallop across the track each year at the concluding event of the United Arab Emirates racing season.

Attendees will also have the chance to explore the surrounding area of Dubai and its audacious architecture, spectacular skylines, obsession with fashion and style, and flourishing contemporary art scene. It forms the perfect backdrop for a sporting event of this lustre.
