Second trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter arrives

The most commercially successful video game movie franchise yet is about to reach its conclusion in ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.’ Sony just premiered the latest trailer at New York Comic Con, and now you can watch it above.

When Paul WS Anderson’s loose big screen adaptation of the Capcom video game series first hit screens back in 2002, few could have predicted that it would lead to a six-film series grossing over $915 million thus far.

Jovovich returns as zombie slayer supreme Alice, whose post-apocalyptic struggle with the evil Umbrella Corporation is set to come to end back where it began in Raccoon City.

Anderson returns once again as writer-director (roles he has taken on all but the second and third films in the series), and other series veterans returning for this final battle include Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts and Iain Glen.

This second trailer features a little less Guns’N’Roses, and a little more monster action. Either way, looks like a suitable ending to the bombastic franchise.

‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ opens in UK cinemas on 24 February 2017.
