Continuing our coverage of San Diego Comic Con 2017, Cinemaniac Diana Othman made it to Hall H Saturday (July 23) and we are still SO JEALOUS. Hall H Saturday kicked off with the Warner Bros panel, and according to Di, three exclusive bits of footage were shown.

First up: an introductory clip summarising the DCEU movies so far, such as BvS, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman. Then Jason Momoa came out to talk about Aquaman, before director Justin Lin came up on video to show the audience conceptual artwork from the movie followed by an early early teaser clip

And then came the second Justice League trailer.

There’s so much here that I don’t even know where to begin. The world is still reeling from the death of Superman after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (see our review). And as if that’s not enough, another big bad is stepping up, namely a certain Steppenwolf.

In what must’ve been a no-brainer for Warners after the success of Wonder Woman (see our review), the trailer opens with the League’s only female superhero doing what she does best: kicking ass. It’s the first time we see Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) working together as a team to fight off Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) and his army of Parademons.

There’s lots of references to the bigger DC extended universe, with mentions of Kryptonians, the Green Lantern Corps and more. Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) looks more troubled than before, and even Alfred (Jeremy Irons) has called in a mysterious person to come and help when things go south.

While this does look fun, recent reports suggest that Joss Whedon’s Justice League reshoots are more extensive than previously believed. Not to mention a story from The Hollywood Reporter, a very reputable publication, that Warners is looking to ease Affleck out of his role as Batman – heartily denied by Affleck at the panel (where Henry Cavill a.k.a. Superman was conspicuously absent).

Di reports: “Affleck addressed the talk about him leaving or being unhappy with Batman head on. He assured the fans that he IS Batman and he truly appreciates this gig, and that he is genuinely excited to see where director Matt Reeves will take Batman.”

DC also released a new poster which harks back to the famous image created by legendary comic artist Alex Ross:
