SDCC 2017 – New Thor: Ragnarok trailer is RIDICULOUS
“So much has happened since I last saw you.” Such truer words have never been spoken. And with that, the new Thor: Ragnarok trailer opens.
If you thought the first Ragnarok trailer was nuts, then you better hold on to your winged Asgardian horses, because the trailer that just dropped in Hall H at Comic Con is INSANE. It’s also got a ton of SPOILERS, so if you’re the sort that shies away from that kind of thing, you’ve been warned.
The trailer gives us a the first good look at, well, a lot of things. There’s Hela (Cate Blanchett being the goddess that she is) wreaking havoc, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) being a badass, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) managing to have a tête-à-tête with both Bruce Banner AND the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Fenris attacking, the fire giant Surtur, Skurge (Karl Urban), and of course, the return of Loki (Tom Hiddleston).
Thor has to assemble his own band of warriors to fight off Hela and her evil forces from burning Asgard to the ground, and the visuals in the trailer made my jaw drop. That shot of Hela fighting off an army of Asgardian soldiers on winged horses is nothing short of amazing. Plus Thor and Loki are WORKING TOGETHER and shooting at people with SPACE LASER GUNS.
It definitely looks like director Taika Waititi has turned the action all the way up, and with a psychedelic colour palette that ties it in with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (which, if the Infinity War trailer news is true, makes a lot of sense).
They also dropped a new poster for the movie. NGL, it is one of the most badass posters I’ve seen this year. This beats even the special edition IMAX ones for GOTG2.
