Popular budget airlines Scoot and Tigerair officially merged on Tuesday (25 July) with five new travel destinations added under the Scoot brand.

According to an announcement on Facebook, these destinations are Honolulu, Harbin, Kuching, Kuantan and Palembang. Scoot is also expected to unveil a new uniform design for its cabin crew.

In line with the official merger, a new look for Scoot’s A320 was also revealed in a fun video that was uploaded to Facebook.

Both airlines have been working on the merger since May 2016, including the integration of their reservation systems, flight schedules and connections, conditions of carriage, check-in counters and call centres, according to a press release on its website.

While Tigerair will now operate under Scoot, the designator code for all Scoot flights will be re-designated as TR.

Travellers who have booked tickets for flights after 25 July 2017 will be notified of the new flight designator code change through email.

Those who are currently holding an old Tigerair-branded itinerary will still be accepted as proof of booking and for check-in. However, amendments that need to be made to Tigerair bookings should be done via FlyScoot.com.

All visitors to Tigerair.com will be redirected to Scoot’s website and the Tigerair app will be disabled.
