Sarah Paulson is as much of a fangirl as the rest of us on the set of “Oceans Eight”
Sure, Sarah Paulson is a big star. The incredibly talented actress has won tons of awards for her perfect portrayal of complicated characters across many genres. But it turns out, she can also be a total fangirl.
During an interview on Late Night: Seth Meyers, Sarah Paulson joked that she’s as in awe of Rihanna as the rest of the world.
Paulson and Rihanna are, of course, part of the incredibly talented cast of Oceans Eight. The female-driven heist movie features some of the most talented women in entertainment. Mindy Kaling previously joked about just how impressive the cast really is. But, according to Paulson, Rihanna is making many of her costars starstruck.
Paulson echoed Mindy Kaling’s sentiments that Rihanna is by far the cast member that everyone can’t get enough of.
She said, “There’s a picture in the dictionary of cool, and then there’s Rihanna.”
Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Helena Bonham Carter are just a few of the other powerhouse women in the cast.
So it’s certainly saying something about Rihanna’s star power that she makes her costars so excited.
Paulson joked with Meyers that she sometimes sings Rihanna’s songs under her breath when she sees her. She even sometimes thinks the paparazzi are interested in taking pictures of her, only to realize she’s just standing next to Rihanna.
Paulson shared a funny story about how the cast was sitting around on their phones one day trying to snag great shopping deals. She changed her own fashion sense to try and impress the singer.
Paulson shared, “I showed her a pair of pants I thought were like the most hideous pants I’d ever seen. And she said, ‘I think those are cool,’ and I was like, ‘Me too. I think those are so cool.'”
Paulson said Sandra Bullock has even given her “side-eye” to tone down some of her fangirling. Just hearing that Paulson gets as excited as we do over her a fellow famous person makes us love her even more. Because, TBH, we’d be the same way if we got to work (work work work work) with Rihanna every day.
