Sandra Ng to produce movie based on Paralympic athlete So Wa Wai

25 Mar – Hong Kong actress Sandra Ng recently revealed that she will be returning to the big screen with a new movie, "On Your Mom, Get Set, Go!" (working title).

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at the press conference held by One Cool Film at the Hong Kong FILMART, revealed that she will produce and star in the new movie, which will be based on the life story of Paralympic gold medalist and track athlete So Wa Wai.

Asked if she will play the role of So's mother, Sandra replied, "I have never played a mother, let alone playing So Wa Wai's mother. My only daughter is also only 12. It would be hard."

Sandra stated that they have yet to cast anybody to play So's mother, and urge people to audition for the role.

As to whether the Paralympic athlete himself will perform in the movie, the actress said that she may consider it, although they have yet to contact So about it.

When asked if it was difficult getting Louis Koo, who owns One Cool Film, to invest in the movie, Sandra said that the actor has already produced her films before.

"Louis invested in my previous movie, "Golden Chickensss". I have made money for him before, so we really have that trust established," she said.

The upcoming movie will begin production in the second half of the year.
