Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

The Galaxy Z Flip is designed and engineered with first-of-its-kind foldable glass, a 6.7-inch display that folds into a stylish and compact form factor that fits in the palm of your hand.

Singapore will be the first market in Southeast Asia to launch the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, a new addition to the foldable category. The Galaxy Z Flip will be available in Singapore from 14 February 2020, Friday, from 8am on local telecommunication operators’ (M1, Singtel and StarHub) online stores and the Samsung Online Store, with a recommended retail price of S$1,998 (including GST). The Galaxy Z Flip will be available in Mirror Purple and Mirror Black.

The smartphone features

  • Fits in pockets – The Galaxy Z Flip folds into the size of a wallet, so you can easily fit it in your pocket or bag. When closed, it is a compact palm-sized device. When opened, its screen size nearly doubles to reveal a 6.7-inch display. It comes with sleek rounded corners and forward fold that closes with a snap.

  • Samsung’s first foldable glass display – The Galaxy Z Flip features an Infinity Flex Display with Samsung’s proprietary bendable Ultra Thin Glass (UTG). The centered in-display camera cutout at the top reveals no notches. Samsung is also revealing its first-ever 21.9:9 ratio on this smartphone, so users can enjoy cinema-ratio 21:9 shows and movies.

  • New hideaway hinge – Galaxy Z Flip’s hideaway hinge is backed by a dual CAM mechanism to ensure every flip and fold is smooth and stable. Galaxy Z Flip can stay open at a range of angles, like a laptop screen. The Hideaway Hinge system also integrates Samsung’s new sweeper technology, which uses nylon fibers crafted by micro-height-cutting technology to repel dirt and dust.

  • Do more – hands-free – The Galaxy Z Flip can unfold at multiple angles and is suitable for selfies. Video chats is made easy with Google Duo programme.

  • Flex mode – Samsung worked closely with Google to design Flex mode – a custom-built user experience for Galaxy Z Flip’s unique forward folding form factor. When the device is free-standing, the display automatically splits into two 4-inch screens so you can easily view images, contents or videos on the top half of the display, and control them on the bottom half.

  • Camera – Galaxy Z Flip can stand on its own so users can capture timed group shots to vivid nighttime content, without a tripod. To capture night shots, use the Night Hyperlapse videos or vivid low light shots with Night mode – no flash is needed.

  • Notifications on your terms – Whether Galaxy Z Flip is closed, standing upright or open, users won’t miss a text, call or reminder. When closed, users can check the date, time and battery status at a glance on the cover display. To answer a call without unfolding or respond to a text, users can tap the notification and unfold the Galaxy Z Flip.

  • Multi-active window – The Multi-Window Tray allows users to drag and drop the apps you want to use. For example, users can scroll through an article on the latest fashion looks on the top half while shopping for favourite pieces on the bottom of the screen.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series - the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra - is Samsung’s first, full 5G flagship lineup, packed with 5G capabilities and AI camera technologies.

Users can expect their devices to work seamlessly with the 5G network when they are available here.

New camera system powered by AI

  • Camera resolution increased: With a larger image sensor available on the Galaxy S20 series, camera resolution is significantly increased, for more detailed images with added flexibility for editing, cropping, and zooming. S20 and S20+ have a 64MP camera while S20 Ultra has 108MP camera. The S20 Ultra has the option to shift dynamically between a high resolution 108MP mode and a 12MP mode, thanks to nona-binning technology which combines nine pixels into one at the sensor level.

  • Zoom Capability: The smartphones are equipped with a Galaxy S20’s Space Zoom technology that uses a combination of Hybrid Optic Zoom and Super Resolution Zoom, which includes AI-powered digital zoom. Use up to 30X zoom on the Galaxy S20 and S20+, or experiment with the folded lenses on the S20 Ultra, which uses AI powered, multi-image processing to reduce quality loss at high zoom levels so that users can experience Super Resolution Zoom up to 100X.

  • Single Take, multiple possibilities: Thanks to its AI camera technologies, the Galaxy S20 can capture a number of photos and videos, such as Live focus, cropped, Ultra Wide and more.

  • Pro-Grade filming capability: The Galaxy S20 offers stunning 8K video shooting, so users can capture content with high colour and quality. After shooting, videos can be streamed to a Samsung QLED 8K for viewing or if you prefer a still, you can grab one from an 8K video and turn it into a high-res photo. The Super Steady feature smooths bumpy videos with its anti-rolling stabilisation and AI motion analysis.
