Samsung Pay celebrates first birthday by adding coupons

Samsung Pay is celebrating its first birthday by adding coupons to its mobile payment system reports Slash Gear.

Marking its one-year anniversary since launching in the US market, the addition of coupon functionality is an important one for American consumers, with whom coupons are a popular option. After teaming up with Quotient Technology, formerly Coupons.com Inc, Samsung Pay will now support uploading membership and loyalty cards from Quotient's retail partners, just in time for Samsung Pay's birthday.

And in addition to its birthday the company also has extra reason to celebrate, with Samsung Pay now supporting over 80% of the US debit and credit card market thanks to its partnership with over 500 banks, according to the company's statistics.

And to celebrate its first US birthday with an even bigger bang, Samsung will be also be giving away prizes to randomly chosen users, including $100,000 worth of gifts and, for lucky 365 users, a Gear S2. Find out more on its special site.
