19 Aug – Although his new series 'Ratman to the Rescue" was involved in a controversy prior to its broadcast, Sammy Leung is confident that it will not affect the viewership ratings in the slightest.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor who appeared at the promotional event of the said drama, addressed previous rumours that former Hong Kong Chief executive CY Leung has called for a boycott against the series due to Sammy's own political views, saying that he is not worried at all. Instead, he believes that the issue was only helping them in publicising the series.
"It doesn't matter. You can never know what the end result would be. Maybe more people will watch it because of the rumour," he said.
It is noted that Leung had denied ever writing the article pertaining to the boycott, saying that it was posted by someone else on Facebook with a similar name.
On the other hand, when asked what he has been doing since the pandemic, Sammy said that he didn't have a lot of projects to do. He added jokingly that he is trying hard to avoid having another baby because of it - noting that his first child was conceived during the SARS epidemic in 2003.
