Sammul Chan balances work and studies in Theology
14 Jun – After reaffirming his faith in Christianity, Sammul Chan revealed recently that he is also pursuing a four-year degree in Theology.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor revealed that he is currently balancing his career while studying the subject at a school in Chicago.
"My father has always wanted me to complete my studies and get a degree. This has been his wish, and consider that it's also a call from "the Father", I decided to study again," he said.
However, Sammul admitted that balancing both his studies and his career has been very challenging for him, especially when he has to work in mainland China.
"I will be working on an online movie ["Battle of Immortal Gods"] next week. I will play the role of Erlang Shen," he said,
Asked if he would say no to roles that may contradict his personal beliefs, Sammul said that he has never considered playing villains and evil roles.
"People may have their own preferences, and I have the right to choose," he said, adding that Erlang Shen is based on folklore.
