Sammo Hung forces Eddie Peng to do 53 takes of stunt scene

24 Aug - Sammo Hung has a high expectation towards his actors, which is why the martial arts star forced Taiwanese actor Eddie Peng to do a stunt in his new movie 53 times.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor-turned-action director, who choreographed the martial arts scene in Eddie's new movie "Call of Heroes", admitted that he did make the actor repeat an action 53 times-a scene which requires Eddie to do a flying kick while being strapped to a wire work.

"From the beginning, I thought he didn't do well and couldn't achieve the effect that I wanted. It's natural for us to make him do it better," he said.

When asked if he was being strict with Eddie due to the fact that the actor is his protégé, Sammo stated that he has high expectation with everybody.

"The most important thing [when doing a movie] is to have the willingness to take risk," he said.

However, Sammo was also full of praises for the Taiwanese heartthrob, saying that Eddie had no complaints about the hard work that goes into filming the stunts.

When asked if he would ever work with Eddie, probably in a movie about a father-son relationship, Sammo responded, "Maybe later. I haven't thought about it yet."
