Sammi Cheng is not affected by her dark character

11 Sep – Although she is known to have suffered from depression before, Sammi Cheng assured that playing a heavy character in her movie, "Fatal Visit" did not affect her mental health the slightest.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress who sat down for an interview recently, stated that while her character Ling has a dark side to her, she as a person does not relate much to her.

"Ling has such an obsession and hatred when it comes to love that it is pathological. But I am not that kind of person. When it comes to love, I would never choose hatred. That only brings great pain," she said.

Sammi also stated that she was very confident in her performance in the movie as she had ample time to prepare for it and a line of dialogues written by award-winning filmmaker Philip Yung to memorise and understand.

"Whenever I work with [director] Johnnie To, I wouldn't know what to do until I arrive on set, so [working with Poon Yuen Lung] this time, it was something new to me. I was so used to working on movies that has no script that this time I was able to do something different," she said.
