Sammi Cheng has forgiven Andy Hui over cheating scandal

19 Apr – While many speculated that Andy Hui's cheating scandal would be the end of his marriage to Cantopop star Sammi Cheng, the latter recently revealed that she has decided to forgive him instead.

The singer, who had been mum about the affair since it made the news earlier this week, took to social media to share a passage from 1 Corinthians 13:7, which read, "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstances."

She wrote, "This is the most important lesson in our marriage. During this period, we experienced emotional ups and downs together, and we also talked deeply about the events. This is a lesson between husband and wife, and a lesson learned in marriage."

"Marriage is not just about mutual happiness and warmth it provides each other, but also about forgiving each other's mistakes. It may sound cliché, but true," she added.

Sammi stated that being married means that both parties also need to go through highs and lows, and face up to their weaknesses instead of giving up. She attributed her faith and prayers as a great help in unloading the burdens off her shoulder.

"One final major request from me is for the media to stop harassing my elderly parents... After today, I will only look forward. In the future, I will continue to move forward step by step," she added.

Andy and Sammi have been married for five years after nearly two decades of relationship. However, the marriage was marred recently after tabloids leaked a dash cam footage of the singer cosying up with TVB actress Jacqueline Wong.
