Samantha Akkineni Shares The Incident When Anushka Sharma Left Her In Disbelief; DETAILS Inside
Samantha Akkineni has been a powerful force to be reckoned with in the South film industry for about a decade now. Though she had been known among the Hindi film audience for years, it was this year’s release, the Raj and DK’s web series The Family Man 2, which kind of made Samantha a bonafide pan-India star.
Her stint as the strong yet silent Raji in the Manoj Bajpayee, Sharib Hashmi and Priyamani-starrer received praise from all over and recently, she was also felicitated with the Best Actress in a Web Series award in the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, for her role.
Her popularity has increased not only amongst the masses but also within the industry. So, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, when Samantha was asked about the last time she received a direct message from a celebrity that had her in disbelief, she took Anushka Sharma’s name. “I felt that when Anushka Sharma reacted to one of my stories. It was like, ‘wait, what?’,” she said.
She also went on to applaud Anushka on her social media game, saying how her content on the internet is “empowering”. “I think Anushka Sharma posts really valuable engagements. I just feel like her Instagram page really empowers and makes you feel happy inside. Yeah, so I like Anushka Sharma’s social media,” she said.
And Samantha’s affection for Anusha’s social media engagement is not limited to just interviews. She doesn’t scare off in showing it as well. Last year, when Anushka posted a picture of her posing in a pool, flaunting her baby bump, Samantha commented, “Angel”, on it. Also, when Anushka dropped a picture to commemorate her third wedding anniversary with cricketer Virat Kohli, Samantha dropped a heart emoji on that as well.
