The Sam Willows Discover Hong Kong Like The Locals
The Sam Willows have collaborated with Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and TLC for the new season of “A Taste of Hong Kong”. The band members spent a day spend a day with Hong Kong singer-actress Josie Ho, and got an adrenalised insider tour of the city. We ask them about their favorite hangout spots in Hong Kong.
Vanilla Luxury: What was your one favourite hangout spot in Hong Kong during the trip as a band?
The Sam Willows: Our favorite hangout spot would probably be the Temple Street Market. We enjoyed some great local food here and even got to meet a fortune teller!

Vanilla Luxury: How was your overall experience going to Hong Kong for the first time as band? And how was it different from prior trips to Hong Kong you might have made individually?
The Sam WIllows: It was great, we got to experience where the locals would go. i.e Visage One. We would usually go shopping and eating on individual trips, so this was fresh for us. And to perform in front of a Hong Kong audience was awesome too.
Vanilla Luxury: How did the city inspire your cover art for your new single “Save Me”?
The Sam Willows: We've always been fans of the aesthetic of Hong Kong. Wong Kar Wai has been a huge influence on us in terms of colors and composition. We planned to shoot the cover art there for its authenticity.
Vanilla Luxury: Are there any Hong Kong artists that you admire or that have influenced your work?
The Sam WIllows: Yeah, we really like Phil Lam's music.
