The singer opened up about self-diagnosing themselves with coronavirus while being interviewed by Zane Lowe over FaceTime. Sam said (via People), "I didn’t get tested but I know I have it. I’m just going to assume that I did because everything I’ve read completely pointed to that. So yeah, I think I definitely had it." They also talked about how their sister started showing the same symptoms as well, so Sam and their sister self-isolated for three weeks in order to protect their family—"I’ve got an older Nan, so we didn’t want to risk anything," Sam added.

Sam said that they got the virus before the U.K. started getting really serious about self-isolating, and shared, "As everyone was kind of really on lockdown, that’s when I got over it, luckily." And thankfully, Sam is feeling better now and back to working on their music, saying, "I started writing and it’s a whole different vibe. It’s amazing. It’s great."

So glad to hear that Sam is doing okay, and can't wait to hear the new songs!
