Sam Smith has overcome body confidence problems by posting topless photos on social media.
The Dancing with a Stranger star has spoken regularly about body positivity, and last year, Sam told fans it was time to "reclaim my body" and "stop trying to change this chest and these hips and these curves that my mum and dad made and love so unconditionally".
Now, the musician admitted stripping off for shots online has been a great confidence booster.
In a new interview with Australian TV show The Project, they said: "My main issue when I was a kid wasn't my sexuality, it was more my body. My body issues are so linked with my gender issues. It's all linked with each other.
"I still struggle having my top off, I still struggle with weight issues, I always will. I feel like with social media, taking my top off on social media, it helped me."
However, the Oscar winner acknowledged that constantly posting about body positivity could become a "slippery slope", and added: "You can get obsessed with constantly posting about your body to make people feel good."
Last month, Sam shared a post on Instagram describing the feeling of being topless in public as "liberating", and urged fans not to "let anyone or anything stop you from feeling that kiss from above you beautiful humans".
The singer came out as non-binary last year by telling their followers: "I've decided I am changing my pronouns to THEY/THEM after a lifetime of being at war with my gender I've decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out..."
