Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding And Lady Gaga Nominated For Golden Globe Awards

Eek - award’s season is very nearly upon us, and the 2016 Golden Globe nominations have made us seriously excited after being announced earlier today.

Alongside the usual TV and movie nominees, a few familiar popstars have been given a nod from the panel, with a fair amount of singers up for a chance of nabbing themselves an actual Golden Globe.

Nice work, guys.

Lady Gaga has received the ‘Best Actress In A Mini-Series Or TV Movie’ nomination for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel.

The iconic star will be going up against some acting legends, including Kirsten Dunst, Felicty Huffman and Queen Latifah.

Meanwhile, Sam Smith’s James Bond theme, ‘Writing’s On The Wall’, has been nominated for ‘Best Original Song’, competing against Ellie Goulding’s ‘Love Me Like You Do’, and Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s ‘See You Again’ among others.

This is just the first wave of nominations that have been revealed, with Angela Bassett, Chloe Grace Moretz, Dennis Quaid, and America Ferrera making the announcement at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

The 73rd Annual Golden Globes will be held on January 10th, with Ricky Gervais returning as host.
