Ryan Reynolds Says He Fell in Love With Blake Lively ‘After the Sex’

Oh, these two! Ryan Reynolds was named one of GQ’s Men of the Year and was asked by the mag when he knew wife Blake Lively was “the one.” Naturally, the actor had a witty response to the question.

“Probably after the sex,” he joked. “No, we were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that’s open really late, and this song came on and I was just like, ‘Want to dance?’ No one was in there, so it was just totally empty. And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, ‘Oh, I think I just crossed a line.’ And then I walked her home. And, uh, you know, I don’t really need to go into what happened after that.”

Reynolds, 40, and Lively, 29, have a lot of fond memories from restaurants. The Gossip Girl alum also recently made a reference to when they fell in love.

Even though this has been quite the year for Reynolds, it hasn’t entirely been smooth sailing. The actor opened up to GQ about how he had a breakdown after Deadpool wrapped.

“When [filming Deadpool] finally ended, I had a little bit of a nervous breakdown. I literally had the shakes,” he said. “I went to go see a doctor because I felt like I was suffering from a neurological problem or something. And every doctor I saw said, ‘You have anxiety.'”

Clearly, his home life helped alleviate that anxiety. The gorgeous couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in September, and Reynolds and Lively just welcomed their second child — another little girl — together this year.

“I’m on the precipice of having a real American family,” Reynolds said. “I mean, I always imagined that would happen, and then it happened. Every idiotic Hallmark-card cliché is true.”

We’d buy that idiotic Hallmark card.
