Rub-a-dub-dub, “American Horror Story” fans.

“AHS” co-creator Ryan Murphy offered another tantalizing glimpse into the upcoming seventh season of the FX anthology series on Wednesday, via a bizarre photo featuring a bathtub, a microphone and a seriously smashed watermelon.

“When stock sound effects for the first episode of CULT just won’t cut it,” Murphy wrote.

In any other circumstance, the behind-the-scenes look might not have made a splash with people. But these are “American Horror Story” fans we’re talking about, so naturally the comments section of Murphy’s Instagram post overflowed with speculation that the sound effect would accompany a noggin-clobbering scene.

“Someone is losing a head. Ever read American Psycho?” one commenter posited. “When he kills the gay guy and dog he talks about how it sounds like a melon hit the pavement.”

“Is someone’s head gonna explode? Because if so I’m here for all of it,” asked another.

“Someone’s head is getting smashed,” another voice in the chorus echoed.

Beyond the theorizing, there was also this bit of home-decor criticism: “As a gay man all I can see is a dated bathroom that needs an immediate remodel/renovation!”

Last week, at Comic-Con, it was revealed that the upcoming season of “American Horror Story” will be subtitled “Cult,” and will premiere Sept. 5.

While the upcoming season, like those before it, has been shrouded in secrecy, Murphy has let on in the past that it will somehow involve the 2016 presidential election.

Murphy has been dropping clues about the upcoming installment on social media, with the “last clue” having been posted July 17. “AHS last clue before this week’s TITLE reveal. Ideas?” Murphy wrote, along with a photo of a person seemingly covered in bees.

Lena Dunham, Billie Lourd, Colton Haynes and Billy Eichner are joining the series for Season 7, while returning players Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will also appear. Earlier this week, Murphy revealed that Paulson and Peters will play lovers in the upcoming season.
