British shoe and accessories brand Russell & Bromley has named Daniel Beardsworth-Shaw its first creative director as the label takes design in-house for the first time in its 144-year history.

Beardsworth-Shaw, who has served as design director for the British high street brand Accessorize for the past two years, will join the executive leadership and report to Russell & Bromley chief executive Andrew Bromley.

Fall 2025 will be the first full collection designed by Beardsworth-Shaw, whose previous industry experience includes stints as vice president of design at Sweaty Betty, design director at Hunter Boot, and design manager at Christopher Raeburn.

“It’s an honor to be part of the next chapter of Russell & Bromley, telling the story of this iconic British brand through innovation and a new creative direction,” said Beardsworth-Shaw.

Bromley said the appointment of Beardsworth-Shaw marks “an important step in our transformation plans to cement our reputation within British fashion. We have a unique story to tell and believe this is the moment to truly bring Russell & Bromley to life.”

In addition to welcoming a creative head, the storied retailer is working with creative studio Acne to transform its brand identity in an effort to cement its status as an upmarket shopping destination.

It is also relocating its global headquarters to a three-floor new location on Kingly Street in Carnaby, central London. It will host all head office functions, and incorporate dedicated design and creative studios for the first time.

A household name on the British high street, Russell & Bromley operates over 40 stores in the U.K. and Ireland.
