Run Run Shaw's widow, Mona Fong passed away at 83
24 Nov – Three years after media mogul Run Run Shaw's passing, it was reported that his wife and non-executive director of TVB, Mona Fong has recently passed away.
As reported on Mingpao, in a statement released by TVB, it was revealed that Fong passed away at 5.28pm of 22 November at the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital with her family by her side.
Back in June, it was rumoured that Fong, who rarely appeared in public since Shaw's own passing in 2014, was hospitalised, although she later made an appearance at the 2017 Shaw Awards.
However, she did not appear at the TVB 50th Anniversary Gala.
Known to many as "Aunt Six", Fong was formerly the vice president of the Shaw Brothers film company and a non-executive director of TVB.
She was 83.
