Ruby Lin admits hesitant to date Wallace Huo

27 Oct - It isn't easy for friends to take the next step and turn their friendship into romance, which is why Taiwanese actress-producer Ruby Lin was hesitant at first to take the risk when it comes to dating then good friend, Wallace Huo.

As reported on Sina News, the actress, who shared her personal story with Marie Claire China recently, explained her doubt about changing their relationship, saying, "Friendship can be forever, but lovers can separate. If that happens, it would be hard to get back to how things were before."

However, after nearly ten years of friendship, they decided to try and cross the line, just to know what would happen if they did.

"If you don't go for it, and it turns out he really is the one, it would be such a pity," she said.

But even then, they decided to keep their relationship a secret – something that Ruby found to be quite difficult as she began to become self-conscious whenever they were together.

"When we were still just friends, we would have meals together all the time and would never be afraid of getting caught. But when we got together, I was afraid of getting photographed and only comfortable when there weren't a lot of people around," she said.

It was soon after they announced their relationship that Ruby said she finally felt relieved.

Now the couple is already married, with a baby on the way. While they are still too busy with work, Ruby said he and Wallace still take time to see each other between filming breaks, and interact like friends.
