Roseanne Barr 'disgusted' by the support for 'Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn
Roseanne Barr has called a double standard on supporters of director James Gunn, who was fired from directing the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise over offensive tweets.
An alt-right activist exposed tweets Gunn had posted some years ago and later deleted, joking about rape and paedophilia.
Though Gunn apologised and said that he regretted posting the deliberately provocative messages, Disney swiftly terminated his contract with Marvel Studios.
Many of Gunn’s friends and stars of the movies came to his defence in the wake of his sacking, which is what Barr, who had her sitcom axed by Disney-owned ABC following her own offensive remarks, objects to.

In an online petition launched this week, nearly 300,000 people have called for Disney to reinstate him.
But supporters for Barr were in short supply following her racially charged tweets in May this year, with nearly all her former co-stars condemning her comments.
Barr, long known for making offensive remarks via her Twitter feed, compared a prominent former aide to Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, to an ‘ape’, adding an additional comment about the Muslim Brotherhood.
ABC president Channing Dungey called Barr’s comments ‘abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values’ before axing her newly reinvigorated sitcom, which was turning in record ratings for the network.
The controversial actress has vacillated between remorse for her comments, telling her friend Rabbi Shmuley Boteach on his podcast of her ‘horrible regret’, to displays of indignation and blaming sleep medication Ambien for the outburst.
She’s since claimed that she did not realise that Jarrett was a black woman, but that she was ‘Saudi’.
Barr announced yesterday that she plans to make her first appearance on TV since her sacking with Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview slated for tomorrow night.
