Romee Strijd has decided to place less importance on the way she looks in 2020.

The Victoria's Secret Angel wrote a lengthy post on Instagram on Monday in which she told her followers her mindset has shifted when it comes to her looks and she's come to realise she's got more to offer than just her appearance.

In the post, Romee candidly revealed how she used to be so focused on her looks that she would put pressure on herself to look perfect at all times and would feel guilty when she didn't.

"I've been thinking about how keeping up with the perfect image affected me, when I went to a birthday, to a party, to work, to an event, I always felt the pressure to look perfect, because I'm Romee, the model, so people are gonna judge about the fact how I look in real life," she wrote. "When I let go of food or the way I look.. I immediately feel guilt.. because most of the times I have to work any time soon, so it stresses me out.. cause I gotta look good.

"This year, I realised we are not just looks.. we shouldn't identify ourselves with our looks... it's absolutely not about that.. We're way more than that, all of us, it's about the personality you have, they way you treat other people, the love and the laughs you share.. thats gonna fullfill you (sic)."

The 24-year-old praised the fashion industry for embracing diversity and "realness" and explained that she would continue to take care of her body and health "but not for the way I look but the way I feel".

Her post was praised by her fellow models, such as Lais Ribeiro, who wrote, "I'm proud of you mama!" and Nina Agdal, who commented, "Amen sister" with the praying hands emoji.
