Roger Dubuis and the famed Italian sports car manufacturer Lamborghini have been teaming up since 2017. In that time we’ve seen a number of collaborative watches from the two brands. The most recent came at the end of 2022 with the Excalibur Spider Huracán Sterrato Monobalancier, which debuted at Art Basel in Miami last year. But now, the duo have launched their latest creation: the Limited Edition Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph.

Chronographs have been at the heart of the Roger Dubuis brand since its inception in 1995. Over the years, we’ve seen the brand expand these offerings, and the new Limited Edition Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph marks the brand’s fifth generation of chronograph design. We have seen this fifth-generation execution in two models already this year: the Monovortex Split-Seconds Chronograph unveiled at Watches and Wonders and the Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph, launched at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new Limited Edition Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph utilizes the same movement as the Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph, the RD780. Thanks to the design of this unique caliber, Roger Dubuis puts the column wheel at six o’clock on full display through the open-worked dial. Across the dial at three o’clock, you’ll also notice the unexpected 120° Rotating Minute Counter (RMC).

As the name suggests, the incredible Lamborghini Revuelto is the base of inspiration for the remainder of the design. The most notable element is the signature “Y” shape bar on the dial, with lines that mirror the headlights of Lamborghini’s V12 hybrid. In addition, the orange and green color scheme is a nod to the palette of the supercar. Flip the watch over and you’ll find the rotor has been shaped with five arms like the rims of the car’s wheels. With the new Limited Edition Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph, you also get some signature elements of the Excalibur Spider collection, like the sharp lines and precise symmetry of the lightweight 45mm carbon case.
