Rocco Nacino joins Pinoy remake of "Descendants of the Sun"

24 Jun – Rocco Nacino recently expressed excitement over his involvement in the upcoming Filipino remake of the Korean hit series, "Descendants of the Sun".

As reported on PEP, the actor, who was announced as part of the cast alongside Jasmine Curtis-Smith recently, took to social media to share his thoughts about the chance to play the role of Sgt. Diego (or Master Sergeant Seo Dae-young in the original, played by Jin Goo).

He wrote, "So now everyone knows, I'm excited and [honoured] to be part of this huge project of [GMA Network]. I always wonder what they will set up for me after "Encantadia". Thank you GMA for this opportunity!"

"Hello twin brother [Jin Goo], I will do my best to give justice to Wolf/Sgt. Seo Dae Young/Sgt. Diego and to portray it as well as you did. Salute!" he added.

In the original drama, Sgt. Seo Dae-young is a senior non-commissioned officer in Alpha Team, who sticks to his principles and is extremely loyal to his commanding officer Si-jin and their comrades.

He also struggles to express his feelings for army doctor Myung-ju (to be played by Curtis-Smith in the remake).

Last month, it was reported that Dingdong Dantes was cast as the lead in the new drama, playing Captain Lucas (or Captain Yoo Si-jin in the original). No news as to who will play Dr Maxine, the Pinay equivalent of Song Hye-gye's Dr. Kang Mo-yeon.
