Rob Kardashian finally reveals why he skipped Kim’s wedding

Weddings are typically a family affair, which is why it was so weird that Rob Kardashian skipped out on sister Kim’s wedding to Kanye West back in 2014. While the two have been married for two years at this point, it’s still a hot topic — and Rob finally decided to open up and explain his lack of attendance. Turns out, it had a lot to do with body image.

“I was doing my suit fittings in Paris right before the wedding and I just wasn’t comfortable,” Rob admitted in an interview with People. “I’m 6’1″ and at my most I probably weighed 300 lbs.”

The fact that his weight was featured in the media’s headlines probably didn’t help matters. Though Kardashian had gained weight, it being looked upon by fans and viewers of Keeping Up With The Kardashians had to be a little tough. Plus, him having to miss his sister’s wedding due to the additional press his weight would receive is pretty upsetting.

“There were cameras at the airport on our trip there and I was very unhappy with the person I saw in all the pictures,” he added. “I’m upset I missed my sister’s wedding but it was a personal decision.”

Whether you love or hate the Kardashians, it’s definitely a shame that Rob felt so pressured to the point where he’d rather skip a big event than suffer the ridicule.

May this be a lesson — taking joy in mocking others, even those who already face criticism daily for being in the spotlight, can often rip apart their self-esteem. It’s ultimately a shame that Rob felt his weight would possibly distract people from the real event at hand — his sister uniting with the man she loves.

Yet, since that time, Rob has slowly made his way back in the media — and he has Blac Chyna to thank for that. It turns out, their relationship helped him get out of a dark place, and helped ease him of his insecurity.
