  • Rihanna revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she's "always" working on new music but isn't rushing the eventual release of her upcoming ninth studio album.

  • "When I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it's gonna come out. And you're not going to be disappointed when it happens," said the singer.

Rihanna isn't rushing to release new music, and she insists that the wait will be well worth it.

Even in the midst of running her fashion and beauty empires—Fenty Beauty, Savage x Fenty, her Fenty clothing line, and now Fenty Skin—the singer assured Entertainment Tonight that she is still working on a new album. She added, though, that she isn't forcing the process to meet demand. Fans of the pop star have dubbed the upcoming album R9, as it will be Rihanna's ninth studio album.

"I am always working on music. I am always working on music and when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it's gonna come out. And you're not going to be disappointed when it happens. It's going to be worth it," said Rihanna to ET via video chat. "I'm not just gonna put it out just because people are waiting. It's taken this long, I'm gonna make it worth it."

The singer's last studio album was 2016's Anti, which provided fan-favorite singles such as "Work" and "Kiss It Better." And this year marks 15 years since the star's breakout debut single,"Pon de Replay."

"I'm also really grateful to still be here and being able to expand into other ventures. I'm grateful," said the singer. "It's been fun and I can't even complain."
