She attended due to her voice, but she’s still getting attention due to her nails. Rihanna’s manicurist revealed her Grammy secret as to how her nails looked so incredible during the big event. The good news is, you can copy her routine after a quick trip to the drug store.
Kimmie Kyees is responsible for a lot of high-profile celebrity nails. Besides Rihanna, she also works with singers like Katy Perry and Adele — so, she definitely had her hands busy during the Grammys this year.
Kyees has been working alongside Rihanna for quite some time — think, back during the “Umbrella” days. So, she likely knows the singer’s nails quite well by this point.

Rihanna, who made sure to showcase her fingernails while on the red carpet, used BB cream on her nails prior to the big event.
“Rihanna is known for her bold nail choices, [but] we did something a little different, keeping it natural and sheer,” Kyees said to E! “She wanted to keep the look natural to accentuate the healthy look of her manicure.”
And, well, we definitely think it worked.

According to Kyees, there was definitely some manicure-comparisons happening at the Grammys, which we can definitely believe!
In an interview with Fortune, Kyees also revealed that she’s always in the dark about Rihanna’s expanding hand tattoo collection. She pretty much finds out the day-of, yet manages to make her hands look extremely high fashion and glam every single time.
