Rihanna’s Backup Dancer Shirlene Quigley Visits Cops to Thank Them for Searching for Her

Shirlene Quigley, a backup dancer for Rihanna, Beyonce and Missy Elliott, pledged her thanks to New York police officers for helping during her recent plight.

On Monday, Rihanna issued an emotional Instagram plea for help in finding Quigley, 32, who had been missing since early Sunday morning.

Following a diligent search and social media alerts from the North Bergen Police, she was fortunately found alive and safe on Tuesday.

The officers’ efforts did not go ignored, and Quigley made a special visit to the police station Friday to thank them in person.

“Thank you everyone for your prayers, love, and support … GOD is so good … special unconditional thank you to our NYPD who literally served and protected,” she wrote on her own Instagram along with a photo with the officers.

“We are so blessed beyond measure to have people like these gentleman who put their lives on the line daily to help us … I am spending time with family and will return to the dance floor Monday … words can not express the joy and gratitude my souls feels,” she continued.

Quigley had been acting strangely and missed a dance class in the days before she was reported missing, her friend told police, NJ.com reported.

She had last been seen at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in the early hours of Sunday morning, and was eventually located when a 911 caller on New York’s West Side reported a woman wandering in and out of traffic.

NYPD officers and FDNY paramedics took the woman to a city hospital, Det. Sgt. David Dowd said, according to NJ.com, but she initially provided a false name and was not immediately identified.

However, the 911 caller then walked past a Missing Person poster with Quigley’s photo and saw that they matched. They placed a call to the North Bergen police, who coordinated with the NYPD. Officers were able to verify that the found woman was Quigley through a physical description that included a pair of distinctive tattoos.

“I commend our police department for its swift response and the combination of new technologies and old fashioned detective work that led them to locate Ms. Quigley safely and help her be reunited with her family,” North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco said in a statement.
