7 Sep – Another TVB artiste has left the building, as singer Ricky Fan revealed that he has ended his ten-year cooperation with the broadcaster in August.
The singer, who accepted an interview with Mingpao recently, shared that one of the reasons why he decided to go was the fact that his show, "Big Boys Club" was cancelled by the senior management.
"I have filmed more than a thousand episodes in seven years. I started off as a guest artiste, but then they took me in as the host and I began to get more emceeing offers since then. I was able to support my family from that," he said.
As for reports saying that TVB had wanted to sign him to a one-show per year contract, Ricky said that he never cared about the money and understands that the company has to reduce production - but that TVB was unable to assure him that he will have a lot of jobs by renewing his contract.
"I am fortunate to have multiple jobs as a DJ and producer for Metro Radio. It helps with the income," he added, though added that he has lost a lot of hosting jobs because of the pandemic.
When mentioned that a lot of people is criticising TVB for being indifferent towards its employees, Ricky stated that he will not hold any grudges lest it makes him sad.
"Our relationship is still good and I won't say no to future cooperation," he added.
