Richie Jen: I never thought I would never see Alien Huang again

23 Sep – Richie Jen recently admitted that he kept telling himself not to cry at his concert, but failed to do so as soon as he was reminded of Alien Huang.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer who spoke to the media following his show, addressed his outburst during his penultimate performance of "Little Bird" that he dedicated to Huang following news of the latter's passing, saying that he had a lot of memories with the singer throughout his career.

Said Richie, "We saw each other at Rock Records from time to time. He was a very hard-working artiste. His career with Rock Records wasn't very smooth so he went on to become a variety show host. But he never gave up on music. We even sang at a tour together on the 30th anniversary of Rock Records."

Richie revealed that the last time they saw each other was when he was shooting an ad in Taichung and Huang was filming a show in the same area.

"We met for dinner and chatted. I never thought it would be the last time we would ever see one another. So that's why I couldn't help the tears when I sang the song on stage," he said.

Alien Huang passed away on 15 September from heart complications. He was 36.
