Richard Gutierrez says no to Zion becoming a child star

The actor wants his son to have a normal life rather than be involved in showbiz as a child

18 Jan – Although he was a child star himself, actor Richard Gutierrez said that he would prefer if son Zion not follow his footsteps and join showbiz at a young age.

As reported on PEP, the actor, who made his debut in showbiz in the 1987 movie, "Takbo, Bilis... Takbo" and "Lahing Pikutin", stated that while he would not oppose to Zion's wishes in the future, he won't let his son become a child star like him.

"[I want him to] go to school, live normally, do whatever he wants - either athletics or arts. It's up to him. But I want him to have a separate childhood," he said.

At the same time, Gutierrez admitted that his son is already used to the attention due to the family's reality show, "It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez".

"He is used to people, to cameras. He's not shy, so he enjoys the company of people. That's a good thing," he said.
