Ria Atayde's birthday wish is for people to donate to charity

25 Mar – Ria Atayde wants no gifts for her birthday this year, and instead urged everybody to donate to charity instead.

The actress, who turned 28 on 23 March, recently shared several charity channels on her Instagram including the ABS-CBN "Pantawid ng Pag-ibig" and Save the Children and wrote, "I am truly grateful to have been blessed with another year in spite of what's going on in this world. On that note, I acknowledge my privilege - I have a roof over my head, food on the table, and even the opportunity to find a way to celebrate today."

"But at the same time, I acknowledge that my privilege puts me in a position where I can help others. If you'd like to give me a gift, please swipe through this post to see the opportunities to help others - especially those displaced from work because of the lockdown and the frontliners who continue to put us first. My wish this year is for all of us to get through this virus ordeal together - mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually," she continued.

Atayde also reminded everybody to always be honest about their travel history, to stay at home if one is able to and stay safe and to sanitise oneself if one really has to be out.

"Let's look out for others, try to be kinder to everyone, take good care of yourselves, and like John Mayer said, smile when you can, and laugh when the opportunity comes up," she added.
