July 30, 2019: New Yorkers will want to take note. Moschino has a new, 1,000 square-foot long-term pop-up in the city that never sleeps. The digs are complete with an oversize teddy bear, a floating light installation of glass neon signs and eight floor-to-ceiling windows, each featuring a letter of the brand’s name. Accessories from various Moschino collaborations will be exhibited in the windows, creating an interactive consumer experience. The boutique is located at 635 Madison Ave. (on the northwest corner of East 59th St.), complementing the existing Moschino NYC retail post at 73 Wooster in SoHo.
July 29, 2019: Miami sneaker fans, there’s a new place, open now, to pick up the latest and greatest from Reebok. The brand’s latest outlet store, a fitness-focused space, is located in the city’s high-traffic Dolphin Mall. The South Florida door is executed using a new retail design concept, created to integrate its Classics line with workout-ready products to show its position in the marketplace as a fitness lifestyle brand. Reebok said the design concept is an update from its FitHub experience, introduced in 2012. To celebrate the new storefront, Reebok will host a grand opening event Aug. 10 and 11 with sneaker customization, live drawings and other activations.

July 26, 2019: After debuting a second store and creative hub in L.A. in May, Swedish legwear company Happy Socks is strengthening its presence in the City of Angels with another retail location. Its third shop there will be located in a 484-square-foot space in the Westfield Century City mall and is slated to open on Aug. 1. Like other Happy Socks boutiques, the shop will stock its colorful collection of socks, underwear, swimwear and accessories for men, women and kids. According to the firm, the opening is part of a greater push to expand the brand’s business in North America.
July 25, 2019: CrossFit-focused Nobull is expanding its brick-and-mortar footprint. The Boston-based brand will open a pop-up shop in The Westchester in White Plains, N.Y., on July 30. Nobull is the latest digitally focused company to open in the shopping mall, which already features stores for Peloton, Bonobos and others. “Expansion of our market footprint is a huge part of further growing our brand and community,” Nobull co-founder Marcus Wilson said in a statement. “Simon’s offering at The Westchester is a great way to do so.”
July 24, 2019: As it marks its 10th anniversary this year, APL (Athletic Propulsion Labs) is taking a big step forward. The sneaker brand has announced plans to open its first flagship store in late 2019. According to the brand, co-founders Ryan and Adam Goldston have spent years studying data culled from their direct-to-consumer website to develop a strategic flagship plan, and they have chosen to locate their first shop in L.A.’s iconic shopping destination, The Grove. Meanwhile, the entrepreneurs plan to continue growing their wholesale distribution channels, which include partners such as Barneys New York, Harvey Nichols, Lane Crawford, Le Bon Marché and Level Shoes.
July 16, 2019: Hip Swedish sneaker label Axel Arigato has opened its third — and largest — flagship store, in a two-story, 2,900-square-foot space in Copenhagen that took nine months to construct. The interior takes heavy design cues from brutalism, featuring concrete walls and floors and an elaborate staircase that connects the two levels. Throughout the store, there are futuristic cloud-like installation podiums, and overhead, hanging LED panels form a repeating geometric pattern. While the flagship carries Axel Arigato’s full range of men’s and women’s footwear, ready-to-wear and accessories, it also will serve as a gathering place for the special projects and events that have become a company signature. “The Copenhagen store embodies everything we stand for as a brand and believe in when it comes to retail,” said co-founder and CEO Albin Johansson in a statement. “The store is created for the people in our community, rather than bringing in sales. This is the future of retail.” The brand plans to open one more store location this year.
July 12, 2019: Virgil Abloh and Louis Vuitton are back with another unique retail experience. After hosting a shop in Chicago throughout June, Abloh and LV opened a New York pop-up today at 100 Rivington St. in the Lower East Side that will have fans feeling “green” with envy. The entire space has been enveloped in neon green, including the exterior and interior floors, walls and ceiling — even the furniture and decorative plants and props. The only items sans paint are the looks from Abloh’s fall ’19 LV apparel, footwear and accessories collection, including an updated version of the Louis Vuitton “Skate” Trainer. The shop will be open Monday to Sunday, from noon to 9 p.m., until July 21.
July 5, 2019: Italian sneaker brand Golden Goose continues its global expansion with the opening of its first store in Japan’s capital city. The flagship, which debuted on Thursday, spans 2,250 square feet and carries the company’s complete women’s, men’s and kids’ collections of shoes and apparel. It also exclusively houses the Flag Ltd sneaker, emblazoned with symbols of Japanese culture. Additionally, as part of its business strategy in the country, the company will launch six capsules a year in association with local artisans.
