24 Sep – Following Zul Ariffin, another "hero Malaya" has now decided to withdraw himself from the running at the upcoming Anugerah Bintang Popular (ABPBH).

"Pujaan Hati Kanda" actor Remy Ishak shared the news on his Instagram Story, stating that he has informed the organiser that he would rather not be nominated in any category, seeing that he had not done a lot of TV and movie projects last year.

"My opinion is that the opportunity should be given to those who are more worthy of competition," he said.

Remy also thanked the organiser and the fans for their support.

It is noted that the actor has never won at the said awards, which is entering its 34th edition, although he has been nominated repeatedly throughout the years.

It was just last month that Remy announced his marriage to wife Ezza Yusof.
