Reese Witherspoon Pocket-Lists Pacific Palisades Mansion (EXCLUSIVE)

According to trusted celebrity real estate tattletales Hal E. Wood and Peter Propertyseller, Reese Witherspoon and her high-powered CAA talent agent husband, Jim Toth, would like to sell their mansion perched atop the prestigious Amalfi Rim in Pacific Palisades, and therefore have engaged the services of one of L.A.’s most successful real estate agents to surreptitiously shop it around with an asking price just a smidgen shy of $20 million.

At the time the couple purchased the property, in August 2014, for just over $12.7 million, the mansion was still under construction. The finished residence, however — a casually elegant Colonial-inspired traditional designed by tony architect Ken Unger — clocks in at around 10,000 square feet, with at least three en suite guest and family bedrooms plus a sumptuous master suite with a private sitting room.

In addition to a couple of staff bedrooms, the finished basement includes a full gym and professional-grade screening room, while informal family spaces at the rear of the house open to an outdoor living room that overlooks a flat expanse of grass and an infinity-edged swimming pool. The property is equipped with a comprehensive state-of-the-art security system that includes a manned guard shack just inside the driveway gates that both of our snitches say drew some pursed lips and negative attention from the homeowner’s association.

The Oscar-winning actress, who has several feature films in various stages of production — including an adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s iconic fantasy novel “A Wrinkle in Time” — previously owed a three-property compound in the guard-gated Brentwood Circle enclave in Los Angeles that she sold in two 2014 transactions that totaled $13.61 million. She additionally owns at least four houses in her hometown of Nashville, including a 1930s white brick Colonial on 6.5 bucolic acres that she picked up in July 2014 for not quite $2 million.
