Red Velvet's Joy to release solo album

18 May – Red Velvet's Joy is set to release her debut solo album.

The news was shared by her agency SM Entertainment on 17 May, stating that the upcoming release will be titled "Hello" and is scheduled to come out on 31 May.

The album will also be a remake, featuring six popular classic songs from the '90s and the 2000s that are given a breath of fresh air.

Rumours of Joy making her solo debut sparked back last week, with SM only admitting that the singer was preparing for the project.

Joy will only be the second member of Red Velvet to have a solo career, following Wendy, who released her mini-album, "Like Water" last month. Nonetheless, it is noted that the former has already recorded various songs for drama soundtracks prior to her solo debut, including 2017's "The Liar and His Lover".
