Rebecca Zhu is in the spotlight at TVB lighting ceremony

18 Oct – After winning Best Supporting Actress at last year's TVB Anniversary Awards, it seems obvious that Rebecca Zhu's position in the company has been upgraded when she was seen in the first row at the annual lighting ceremony to kick start TVB's 51st anniversary celebration.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who was among the many TVB artistes attending the event, was positioned to stand next to Edwin Siu and closer to TVB's veteran star Liza Wang in front of the stage, marking her rising status in the company. Others in the row include last year's TV King Vincent Wong, two-time TV Queen Kristal Tin, and senior Joe Ma.

Speaking to the media at the event, Rebecca was all smiles as she spoke about playing the lead actress in TVB's anniversary drama, "Fist Fight".

"I am very honoured and thankful to TVB for the opportunity. We had been filming for half a year, and the process had been very challenging. But everyone was very nice," she said.

The actress also revealed that she has learned a lot of new things during the production, including how to handle a gun - a lesson that co-star Philip Ng taught her.

When asked if there is a possibility for her to be nominated in the Best Actress category this year, Rebecca responded, "I would rather focus more on the ratings, and hopefully that the audience will appreciate the drama. I will let fate decide when it comes to awards."
