A woman whose hair is five foot and six inches long credits eating a spoonful of peanut butter every day for her exceptionally long locks.

Andrea Stano, 34, who comes from Micronesia and now lives in the US, has strawberry-blonde hair which comes down to her ankles.

While she spends up to 45 minutes a day looking after her crowning glory, she says it’s her daily spoonful of nut butter which keeps it in prime condition.

“I truly believe this step keeps my hair healthy, and helps it to grow faster and thicker,” says Stano.

“If I am travelling or forget to eat peanut butter for a week or two, I can always tell a difference.

“When I eat peanut butter every day, my hair is easier to comb out and does not fall out as easily when I am brushing it.”

Although Stano has never visited a hairdresser for a cut, she does occasionally trim the ends of her hair herself in order to keep them healthy.

As for the rest of her hair care regime, Stano washes her hair twice a week, generally applying a 15 minute moisture mask beforehand.

She also takes daily fish oil and collagen supplements.

Whether you’re eating it for haircare purposes or just love the taste, peanut butter is big news in the UK.

Last year, sales of peanut butter exceeded traditional jam for the first time ever, according to supermarket data collated by Kantar Worldpanel.
