Ray An Fuentes lost wife to COVID-19
29 Dec – Although he himself survived COVID-19, Ray An Fuentes is saddened that the same cannot be said about his darling wife, Mei-Ling.
The singer shared the sad news on 28 December via Facebook, writing that his wife, who remained in the ICU after her condition worsened, passed away at 4.15pm of 27 December 2020 at the age of 68.
"We finally just had to release her to the Lord because the other possible reality is brain damage. We didn't want her to suffer anymore. [I am so heartbroken. This is so painful]," he wrote.
However, Fuentes, who is currently living in Canada, thanked fans and friends for their prayers and well-wishes, after he first shared news of their diagnosis earlier this month.
"My sons and daughter sang this at her bedside: You give and take away, You give and take away, My heart will choose to say Lord, blessed be Your name (That was a tough one to type after the fact)," the singer added.
The "Umagang Kay Ganda" singer and his family were tested positive for COVID-19 back in November. He and his kids have since recovered.
