Rainie Yang denies trying to win music awards with new album

28 Nov – Rainie Yang has recently dismissed the notion that the change in her music direction was an attempt to win Best Album at next year's Golden Melody Awards.

As reported on Epoch Times, the singer, who appeared at the launch of her 11th album, "Delete Reset Grow", said that the reason for the change of her style and her collaboration with musicians like Cheer Chen, OZI, and Waa Wei was to give her fans something different.

"I like the music of these performers and wanted to work with them, and it just so happens that they are very good at what they do and won awards for their music," she said.

Rainie also added that she even had plans to work with OZI before the singer-songwriter started winning awards.

"You can say that I have a good vision," she added lightheartedly.

As for her decision to produce and coordinate her own album this time, Rainie said that it was all thanks to husband Li Ronghao, who encouraged her to do so.

"I was trying to find producers for my new album two years ago, and [my husband] asked me, 'Why don't you produce yourself?' I wasn't confident at the time, but he encouraged me and allowed me to have this breakthrough," she said.
